General information
It has been a long tradition of the EAESP to honour its most outstanding members. Every three years, on the occasion of the General Meeting, two such members were invited to deliver the Jos Jaspars Lecture (for junior excellence) or the Henri Tajfel Lecture (for senior excellence).
Today, however, these two awards no longer seem sufficient to acknowledge our members' many scientific achievements and their various contributions to our Association. Moreover, we are aware that learned societies in related fields are much more generous in the number of awards conferred. As a consequence, social psychologists may be at a disadvantage in a number of situations as they cannot profit from the recognition of their achievements.
The Executive Committee has therefore decided to expand the nature and increase the number of awards extended to its members during the General Meeting. This decision took effect from 2005 onwards.
