EAESP is 40 years old (1966-2005): 40 years in which EAESP grew from a household of only a few enthusiastic pioneers to a large family of about 1000 members.

The new website came about following the Executive Committee’s decision (16 October 2004) to integrate the ProFile, the Membership List and the former website into a single, attractive and up to date dynamic instrument.

Sibylle Classen, executive officer, and Eddy Van Avermaet, secretary, took charge of the project, ably assisted by Ive Pauwels, K.U.Leuven webmaster. We are grateful for their efforts, as we continue to be grateful to Jef Nuttin, who set up the Archives of EAESP, and to Bernard Rimé and Tony Manstead, the fathers of the ProFile (1995), a booklet which contained just about all the information a member of EAESP might need or want to know.

As EAESP’s president, I hope that this website, as a virtual archive and as a virtual booklet, will draw the interest of all its visitors, members and non-members alike. Indeed, the website testifies to EAESP’s rich history, its accomplishments, and its present day vitality.
